Following the latest shiny dark trend set by Porsche and BMW, Volkswagen has unleashed a limited edition of cloaked vehicles with special paint, trim and tires. Now far from emasculating and upped in the masculinity quotient, the 2012 Volkswagen Beetle Black Turbo Edition aims to draw 600 buyers with its 2.0 liter TFSI turbo four-banger from the Golf GTI, DSG dual clutch transmission, 18 inch wheels with black highlights, fiery red brake calipers, a “Turbo” decal emblazoned on the side, a non-offensive lip spoiler and a swanky carbon fiber trimmed interior. You can pretty much say goodbye to the limp-wristed Beetle from the last generation. This time, it’s a head-turner for the right reasons.

The shiny new Beetle Black is tagged $25,720.
