Alienware M11x Review

It’s usually pretty straightforward: an 11.6-inch notebook will deliver battery life but lack grunt, while a larger machine is more likely to pack performance at the expense of liberty from a power point. The Alienware M11x promises to change all that; while it may have the diminutive dimensions of a CULV notebook, its overclocked processor and switchable discrete graphics claim to make it a gamer’s machine where longevity is a choice.

Video Card: Alienware M11x is able to handle WoW MAX settings but some areas it has very low FPS but for the most part it keep truckin. It hasn’t overheated yet after 10hours of game play and is in a very duty environment with an average outside temperature of 90. It still stay relatively cool, the fan is at the top left corner.

Sound – Excellent compared to other notebook speakers and sound card. The mic is good also.

CPU – Alienware offer a choice of two processors, Intel’s Pentium SU4100 1.30GHz in the entry-level machine or their Core 2 Duo SU7300 1.30GHz in the more expensive models. Out of the box they come overclocked. It gets things done in a timely manner its just that, it is Alienware and hopefully in near future they beef it up some. It performs at a decent speed for most games but I do find myself waiting for what seems a good bit (nothing over mins it just doesnt have that speed some of us with good desktops are use to).

Screen – Indeed one of the best out there, only complaints, it isnt the RGB screen and seems to not be as bright as other cheap notebook screens.

Keyboard – Is very nice, no where near as flismy as thier older models of laptops

Touch Pad – You guys or someone else need to add something to these touchpads because they aren’t ideal for gaming so that means more stuff to bring (ie Mouse). Maybe have touchpad but with a piece of plastic that would serve as your finger but also it has buttons on sade plastic that you move around on the touchpad so that we don’t have to bring a mouse too.

Back lite Keyboard – A must in dark places at times, unless you pro and don’t need to have the keyboard lited up, ya it’s unique but maybe just for Keyboard to free up w/e else could be added in.

Frame – lots of ports for w/e is nice but what is REALLY nice is the metal frame, it feels VERY DURABLE unlike the other laptops (not talkin bout m15 and m17 but the ones before it) The durability will surely keep me coming back to buy as long as that durability stays.

Overall this is a what I think a true gaming laptop should be, Small fast and durable for on the go and one the move situations.
