The real geeks out there tend to look at design of computers and netbooks secondary to the performance and hardware the machine offers. There are others out there who buy based on looks more than performance and for this group HP debuted its latest netbook designed by Vivienne Tam.
The netbook is the average Mini 210 decked out in gold color with Tam’s “Butterfly Lovers” design on the lid. The design has butterflies on the lid along with matching screen savers and other digital content.
The hardware includes an Intel N450 CPU, 10.1-inch screen 2GB of RAM, and Windows 7 Premium. The netbook is an inch thick, the gold color 3-cell battery is good for 5.5 hours, and a black optional 6-cell promises 11.1 hours of use. A coordinating 2.4GHz wireless mouse is optional. The basic machine is about $600.
